Murchison Falls National Park

The Nile forces itself through a seven-metre gap in the rock — and elephants, giraffe and lions roam the plains above.

Uganda's largest park. Game drives on the northern bank find Rothschild's giraffe, elephant, buffalo and lion; a launch trip up the Nile ends in spray at the foot of the falls, passing hippo and crocodile. The hike to the top of the falls is short and unforgettable.
