What we hold, and why.

KOZDA is asked to look after things that matter — a parent's welfare, a land title, a funeral. This is a plain account of what that means for your information.

Last updated 20 September 2026

Awaiting legal review. This describes accurately what KOZDA does today, and is not yet a lawyer-reviewed policy. Questions about it go to mkceo@kozdadiasporaservices.com.

Who we are

Kozda Diaspora Services Ltd, P.O Box 210766, Lukwanga Muyenje, Kampala, Uganda. You can reach us at mkceo@kozdadiasporaservices.com or on WhatsApp at +256 730 723 398.

What we collect

Your account. Your name, email address, phone number, the country you live in, and the currency you prefer to see prices in.

What you ask us to do. The details of each booking — dates, addresses, a shopping list, an event, a plot of land. These differ by service, and we only hold what that service needs.

Information about other people. For Family Care, the name, address and relationship of the person being cared for, who is almost never the account holder. That is the premise of the service. It can include information about their health or about a child's schooling, and we treat it as the most sensitive thing we hold.

Evidence of work done. Receipts, photographs of completed work, and written inspection reports. These can contain images of documents, vehicle number plates, and people.

Messages. What you write to your coordinator, and what they write back.

Payments. When payments go live, card and mobile money details are handled by our payment provider and are never stored on our systems. We keep the amount, the currency, the provider's reference, and whether it succeeded.

Who sees it

Your coordinator and KOZDA staff. A named person at KOZDA manages each booking and can see it in full.

The supplier doing the work — but only their part. Suppliers talk to KOZDA, not to you. A caterer on your event cannot see what the photographer is paid, and neither of them can see your messages to your coordinator. That is enforced in the software, not only by policy.

Nobody else. We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for advertising.

Photographs and documents

Files attached to a booking can only be opened by you, the supplier working that booking, and KOZDA staff. Links to them expire after five minutes, so a link that leaks stops working almost immediately and cannot be guessed.

If an inspection photograph contains something you would rather was not there, tell your coordinator and we will remove it.

How long we keep it

Bookings, receipts and reports are kept because they are the record of what was done on your behalf — a dispute about a land inspection can arise long after it happened, and deleting the evidence would leave you with nothing to point at.

Specific retention periods are part of the legal review this page is waiting on. We would rather say that plainly than print a number nobody has stood behind.

Your rights

You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, and ask us to delete it. Some records we are obliged to keep — money moved and disputes settled — and we will tell you which those are rather than simply refusing.

Write to mkceo@kozdadiasporaservices.com. We will come back to you, and if we cannot do what you have asked we will explain why.

Where your information is held

Our systems run outside Uganda. For customers resident in the EU or UK this means an international transfer, and the safeguards that apply to it are part of the legal review.
